Accumoto Built 911 with Torsion Bar Safari Stage 1 Suspension

It’s been said that Accumoto of Waunakee Wisconsin “Builds the best Porsches you’ve never heard of”. Dubbed “Sanchez”, this SC based safari build was envisioned as a Gentlemen’s Safari car. Sanchez is a great proof point.

Sanchez began as a low mile, one-owner, SC and rather than the hardcore rally ethos, with weathered leather and teak wood plank roof rack, it went more throw-back and streetable. To that end, Accumoto selected Elephant Racing’s Torsion Bar Safari Stage 1 suspension package to give Sanchez the perfect mix of handling and chassis support for its new life.

Elephant Racing has an easy-to-use Safari Package Builder for those looking to select the right mix of components for their own builds. At the core of the suspension is Elephant Racing Safari Struts, with raised height and double shear tie rod reinforcement. Safari extend Von inserts go in the struts and are paired out back with Von extended length rear shocks. All valved for a mix of street and off-road action.

One problem introduced with raised ride height is the loss of static camber on the front suspension. The Torsion Bar Safari Stage 1 package addresses this with Elephant Racing De-cambered ball joints, which add back the needed camber.

QuickChange spring plates are fit to the rear. These have a broad height adjustment range make it easier to tune at safari height and corner balance.

Power comes from a 3.0 Eurospec motor mated to a 915 transmission with shorter gearing to help compensate the larger tire diameter with off-road duties while stainless headers and a sport exhaust are equally at home both on and off road.

The exterior and interior are in equal measure subtle and opulent with quilted, distressed leather and some clever work integrating the custom front and rear aluminum skid plates.Elephant Racing would like to thank and recognize Accumoto for allowing us the privilege of showcasing this safari SC.
