The
Payoff Cool
oil temperature, no problems

The setup is extremely effective
at speed. Above 65mph or so, oil temps
are rock solid 195F regardless of ambient temp or engine load,
exactly where the thermostat wants it. Apparently
the pressure differential between inlet/outlet
becomes substantial around this speed and massive air begins to flow
through the cooler.
Without
a fan to force airflow, the cooler is less effective when stopped or
traveling at low speeds due to limited airflow. It is
still more effective than the old fender mounted cooler under all
conditions. But this car isn't intended to move slow.
The
cooling system is ready for our planned motor.

The
hood vent is actually discrete from frontal
views. Stainless mesh was used to fabricate the
stone guard up front.

Hood
vent becomes more obvious in side and front looking
perspectives.
