Dash
and headliner
The
car is being built to POC HP class specifications and they require a
full interior with dash and headliner. The interior
didn't look bad for being 30 years old, but that's one hell of a qualifier.
Some renewal was in order.
Before
the glass goes back in it was time to address some of the interior
upholstery. Headliner, dash and A and B pillars all require
the glass to be out for recovering. A fresh headliner was
installed and the dash and pillars have been recovered.

Fresh
headliner really cleans up the interior.
|
 |
Like
most 30 year old Porsche dash boards, this one had some
minor cracking. It's been recovered with a low-sheen
material to avoid glare.
|
 |
The
recover job actually looks better than the factory dash,
although not original in appearance.
|
 |
Knee
pads have been recovered with matching fabric. Area
around the gauges was repainted.
|
 |
A and
B pillars are also covered in matching fabric. The
glove box door may be a casualty of weight reduction.
They are surprisingly heavy! Something will be done to clean
up the appearance of the glove box.
