Design Engineer

Summary:

If you're both a skilled Engineer and a committed track-junky, this could be the dream-job you've been looking for.   We need the right mix of Engineer and Enthusiast to help design our expanding product line. 

We need a talented and creative Design Engineer to work as a key part of our design team and participate in all phases of product development including ideation, design, prototyping, testing, documentation, manufacturability, and maintenance revisions.

You will be specifically responsible for designing and developing suspension components.  

You need to be a flexible, multi-talented individual.  You will design using SolidWorks.    You will get your hands dirty on real cars to study and research your target vehicle, build prototypes, and test products.   You will produce design documentation.  You will produce product instructions.   You will interact with and manage suppliers.  You will interact with customers and provide technical support.  

You will be part of a design team and are expected to bring new ideas and solutions to the table.  Be ready to challenge ideas and be challenged, working together to produce the best possible products.

You must be a Porsche enthusiast.  The successful candidate will almost certainly have a history demonstrating track driving / autocross experience, and of building cars and tweaking the suspension and setup.

Full time position.

Location will be our R&D facility in San Jose.

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

- Product design (full product life-cycle)

- Prototyping

- Testing

- Documentation

- Customer technical support

- Other duties as needed and as appropriate based on candidate skill set

 Minimum skills and experience required:

- BSME or equivalent

- 2 or more years experience as a Design Engineer

- SolidWorks proficiency

- Knowledge of suspension concepts and racecar suspension setup

- Must be a Porsche enthusiast

- Enthusiast level or professional experience with project / track car builds, and setup

- Track driving / club racing / Autocross experience

Desirable but not required:

- PE Desirable

- Machinist skills desirable

- Professional experience in the automotive suspension field

- Race team Engineer experience

Installation Technician

Summary:

We need a Tech to perform installation of Elephant Racing products.  We will train you.  Your primary responsibility will be installation of suspension components and suspension setup including corner balancing and alignment.  This will occupy the majority of your time.

As a secondary responsibility, you will cross train to participate in product assembly.

Additional responsibilities will depend on candidate's abilities.    The right candidate may participate in race car prep, project car builds,  basic machining, welding.  Explain the skills you bring to the table, we may tailor the job to fit.

You need to be a Porsche enthusiast. The personality that fits at Elephant Racing likely has autocross or track driving experience.

 Minimum skills and requirements:

- Must be a Porsche enthusiast

- Experience with suspension work, will consider home DIY or professional experience, we will train you

- Mechanically inclined, proficiency with hand tools

- Minimum High school graduate.  Vocational training or college a plus.

- Valid CA driver's license with a clean driving history
